A place where stories take shapeFicTones is a creative studio dedicated to the realisation of an original long-form fantasy work as an IP — through publication, screen adaptation (animation or manga), or both. The project began with the intention of giving form to an imaginary world developed over many years, shaping it into a single, cohesive narrative.

Project Overview

The work is built upon a multi-layered world, drawing on themes from philosophy, mythology, ethics, and aesthetics. It is being developed as a long-term IP project with both publication and screen adaptation — including animation and manga — in view.

Why the Details Remain UnpublishedSpecific elements of the work—such as its worldbuilding, settings, plot, and characters—are not publicly disclosed at this stage for the following reasons:

  • To follow industry-standard confidentiality practices for IP development, particularly for projects intended for publication and screen adaptation

  • To protect the concept and avoid copyright- or IP-related risks

  • To ensure proper creative and quality management during the production process

Current Progress (2026)As of March 2026, this work is being developed as a long-term IP project with both publication and screen adaptation (animation and manga) in view. The order in which these are realised will be determined flexibly, depending on the collaborators and circumstances that emerge. Should the work be published, it is intended for deposit in the National Diet Library of Japan.

Origin of the Studio Name

FicTones is born from fiction and tones. It explores the moment where story and sound intersect— a place where imagination stirs and creativity comes alive.

About the Logo

The FicTones logo features a butterfly. Throughout history, butterflies have held profound symbolic significance across various cultures, representing transformation, the soul, and the realisation of dreams. In Greek mythology, Psyche, meaning “soul” or “spirit,” is closely associated with butterflies. In ancient Egyptian and Mayan civilisations, butterflies were seen as symbols of rebirth and metamorphosis. Even today, they embody creativity and change, carrying an air of mystery.In my artistic journey, butterflies serve as a symbol of inspiration and expansion. Stories emerge from the depths of the mind—they may have been cocooned within me for some time, waiting to unfold. When words take shape in the vastness of thought, they hatch into narrative, and sound follows in kind. Like a butterfly just freed from its chrysalis, the music takes flight, evolving into the soundscape of the story. Simply put, I have always been captivated by butterfly motifs. Perhaps, that alone is reason enough.

Message from the FounderTo write stories is, for me, an act of reexamining how the world reveals itself. Myth, philosophy, ethics, aesthetics — these are not ornaments to my work. They are the architecture by which a world is built. To draw out an inner world, to fill it with sound, to give it form — I have chosen this continuous practice as a way of living.
In an age when modes of expression have multiplied, I have chosen to speak through the work itself. I am deeply grateful for the connection made by your visit to this site.
To release one's sensibility and imagination is to affirm oneself, and to be freed from fixed spaces. This, I believe, is not something singular to me.
May every person on this earth be free to choose what they love, and to share their singularities with one another. To you, reading this now — may you be blessed in being who you are.
